I love all things Irish and Our dear Mother is no different. I have a lovely statue of her, as well as a holy water font, given to me by my dear friend Una from Ireland. We also have special Holy water from the shrine in Knock. I adore Dana's song Our Lady of Knock so much that we had it at our wedding.
The children will spend the morning making lapbooks of Ireland and Our Lady of Knock. We will all be practicing our family's favorite Irish music and learning more about our familys heritage.
We plan to have a wonderful Irish tea with homemade soda bread and potato candy. For dinner I am planning a wonderful Rosemary and white wine Lamb.
May our dear Blessed Mother bless you this day.
Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to your people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your Son, remembering His promise: "Ask and your shall receive, seek and you shall find." Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me.Comfort me when I am sick or lonely or depressed. Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the holy Mass. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen. Our Lady of Knock, pray for us.
